Hey, good morning, my friends. Hope all is well. Happy Tuesday!
It’s been a minute since I last came on here, but trust me—there’s a reason for that. And today, I want to break it down for you.
How do you go from good to great in any area of your life?
Because let’s be honest—most people get comfortable with “good.” And “good” is the enemy of “great.”
I believe there are two things that will take you from just “doing fine” to truly excelling:
Self-awareness
Self-management
Let me show you exactly how these two principles played out in my own life this past month.
Self-awareness is the ability to step back and evaluate where you really are. And let’s be real—most of us don’t do that.
We’re too deep in our routines. Too stuck in habits we don’t even think about anymore. You wake up, grab your phone, tap that little blue Facebook app, and boom—you’re scrolling.
That’s not intentional behavior. That’s autopilot.
So at the end of 2024, I asked myself:
👉 Where am I coasting?
👉 Where am I settling for “good” when I know I want great?
And the truth hit me hard.
My marriage was good, but was I really present enough for my wife?
My health was solid, but could I be even sharper and more disciplined?
My business was thriving, but was I running it in the smartest way possible?
If you don’t ask these questions, you stay stuck.
So I did something bold—I started the year by doing nothing.
I hit pause. Cleared the slate. Took a step back.
And that’s when I saw it: I was running my business in a way that made my personal life harder than it needed to be.
Now, self-awareness means nothing without action.
So I looked at my business and realized: every March, I run a massive 5-day challenge. It’s a huge event. Tons of moving parts. Non-stop promotions, podcasts, interviews, affiliate deals.
But guess what? March is also my wife’s birthday. Our anniversary. My youngest daughter’s birthday.
So while my challenge was successful, my personal life was taking a hit.
Not anymore.
This year, I decided to run the challenge in January instead of March—but with a twist:
✅ No crazy promotions
✅ No endless partnerships
✅ No non-stop marketing
Instead, I focused on paid traffic and a few key affiliates. I let the process work FOR me instead of grinding myself into the ground.
And guess what? It worked.
Instead of 1,500 signups, I had 580.
Instead of 150+ live attendees, I had about 120.
But the conversions? Just as strong.
More importantly—my wife noticed.
Halfway through the challenge, she looked at me and said, “Babe, I love this. You’re present. You’re not stressed. You’re actually here.”
And then she hit me with the ultimate shocker:
“You could do this challenge every month if you wanted.”
Hold up, what?!
I’ve been doing this challenge once a year for the last few years because it drained so much energy from me and my family. Now? I ran it in a way that allowed me to serve my people AND stay fully present at home.
That’s the power of self-awareness + self-management.
Most people never reach great because they refuse to let go of good.
I could have said, “Well, my March challenge works fine. Why change it?”
I could have stayed comfortable doing things the way I always have.
But growth means change.
And sometimes, you have to trade in something good in order to make room for something great.
So let me ask you: Where in your life are you holding onto “good” when you should be pushing for great?
Your career?
Your relationships?
Your health?
Be brutally honest with yourself. Then take action.
Because good will keep you exactly where you are.
And I don’t know about you—but I’m after great.
Let’s get it. 🚀
