Good morning, my friends! I’m a little late today, but hey—better late than never, right? Today, I want to speak directly to those of you who feel like you’re in a "waiting season." You feel like you’re not quite where you want to be, not fully walking in your purpose, and you’re stuck in that in-between time. If that’s you, listen up—I have a big promise for you and a little testimony to share.
I know what it feels like to be in a waiting season because I’ve been there. Before I started Renewal Rehab, I found myself stuck, frustrated, and wondering when my time would come. And if you’re there right now, I want you to know this season isn’t wasted—it has a purpose.
Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” This verse was a game-changer for me back in 2004.
At the time, I was working for a company called Cora Rehabilitation, and let me tell you—I was frustrated. I felt like my bosses weren’t supporting me, I wasn’t set up for success, and I was working insane hours with little appreciation. I was running a brand-new clinic, working crazy shifts, and still being told "no" when I asked for help.
I remember going to my boss and asking for one day off during the week so I could focus on my marriage. I was already working 60 to 80 hours a week while getting paid for 40. And what did they say? No. Just straight up "no."
Man, I was bitter. I was angry. I felt like, "You know what? I’m done giving my best to these people. If they don’t care, why should I?"
Then, I went to church that weekend, and my pastor shared Colossians 3:23. He reminded me that I wasn’t working for Cora Rehabilitation. I wasn’t working for my boss. I wasn’t even working for myself. I was working for the Lord.
That truth hit me like a truck.
That Monday, I went into work with a whole new mindset. I told myself, "I’m going to show up and work as if I’m working directly for God." And you know what? It changed everything. My attitude shifted, my bitterness faded, and my work had a new sense of purpose.
This is what I need you to hear: Your waiting season is not a waste. It is a preparation ground. God is watching how you handle what He has given you right now before He trusts you with what’s next.
If you’re in a waiting season, don’t slack off. Don’t get bitter. Don’t just "get by." Show up, work hard, and do it with excellence. Whether you’re driving Uber, delivering DoorDash, or stuck in a job you don’t love, work like you’re serving Jesus Himself.
Here’s the practical side of why this is so powerful: If you don’t steward what you have now, why would God give you more? If you’re bitter, resentful, and half-hearted where you are now, what makes you think you’ll handle greater responsibility well?
People think running a six or seven-figure business is hard. No—it’s not hard. What’s hard is learning the discipline, consistency, and attitude that it takes to sustain success. Most people fail because they never learned how to work well when things weren’t ideal.
My waiting season taught me how to show up when I didn’t feel like it. It taught me how to serve when I was frustrated. It taught me how to be faithful when I didn’t see the results yet. And now, years later, those lessons are why I can sustain what I have today.
If you’re in a waiting season, I need you to do something for me: trust the process. This isn’t the time to complain—it’s the time to prove you can handle what’s coming next.
So let me pray over you real quick:
Lord, I thank You for this person reading this right now. I thank You that You have a plan for their life. I ask You to give them patience in their waiting season. Help them to work with excellence, knowing they are working for You and not for man. Let them see this season as preparation, not punishment. Strengthen them, guide them, and bless them as they walk faithfully. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Now go out there and make it a great week! And remember—this waiting season is preparing you for something greater. Show up, do the work, and trust the process. Let’s go!
Much Love,
Greg
