I’m in Washington, DC with my daughter.
We’re actually running late for a Capitol tour. Not late-late.
Fashionably late. According to her.
We’re Floridians, so the snow is a big deal. We’re walking around, talking, laughing, doing what most parents wish they had more time to do… just being present.
And sometime between coffee, snow, and trying to figure out where we’re supposed to be, a conversation from the night before keeps replaying in my head.
It was about entrepreneurship.
And peace.
That’s what my daughter said.
Her best friend is an entrepreneur. She sees the long hours. The uncertainty. The pressure. And she’s not wrong.
Entrepreneurship can be chaotic.
But here’s what I told her — and it’s something I want you to hear too:
Having a regular job can be chaotic as well.
The difference is who the chaos is working for.
When you work for someone else, the system is built to support their life.
If it works, it works for them.
When you build something of your own, the chaos at least has the potential to create the life you actually want.
Not guaranteed.
But possible.
And possibility matters.
We both agreed on something important at dinner.
Peace is wealth.
Not money in the bank.
Not titles.
Not followers.
Peace.
The ability to choose.
The ability to be present.
The ability to step away without everything falling apart.
That’s wealth.
And that’s when something hit me.
Later that day, I opened my Slack channel.
Every time someone signs up for one of my programs or free classes, it shows up there.
While we were:
Flying
Walking around DC
Drinking coffee
Talking about life
65 people signed up for a masterclass I’m doing when I get back.
Sixty-five.
And I thought back to my clinic days.
Seeing 65 patients in a week?
That’s an exhausting week.
Getting 65 people to come in is work.
Seeing them all is work.
And if you don’t show up?
Nothing happens.
But this time was different.
Those 65 sign-ups happened without me being physically present.
That’s not luck.
That’s leverage.
There are 168 hours in a week.
When your income depends on you being there, you’re capped by those hours.
But when you build something that delivers value across all 168 hours — whether you’re there or not — everything changes.
You’re no longer trading time for money.
You’re building something that works with you, not because of you.
That’s what I mean when I talk about creating a 168 vehicle.
And once you experience it, it’s hard to unsee the difference.
Let me be clear.
This isn’t about traveling to DC on a random Tuesday.
That might not be your thing.
But maybe this is:
An extra $500 a month
Covering a car payment
Helping with your mortgage
Paying down student loans
Paying for your kid’s activities
Creating breathing room
Not by working more hours.
But by building something once that continues to serve.
If you can create value without always being there… why wouldn’t you at least explore it?
I’m not saying entrepreneurship is easy.
It isn’t.
But neither is being burned out, stuck, and capped with no real upside.
At least this path gives you a shot at peace.
So take from this what you want.
Maybe it’s just perspective.
Maybe it’s curiosity.
Maybe it’s the realization that there is another way.
And maybe… it’s time to build something that works even when you don’t.
Much love,
Greg
