The Death of the Middle Class = The Rise of the Two-Tier Business Model ☕️

I was on my morning walk recently, cruising through the neighborhood like I always do, and I passed two coffee shops. Both had the same setup. Same street. Same beach view. One of them? Had a line out the door. The other? Empty. Crickets.

And right there, in flip-flops and a hoodie, I thought — this is exactly what’s happening to healthcare professionals right now.

Let me break it down.

Two Shops. Same Product. Different Results.

Shop #1? Let’s call it Grove Surf Café.

Place is a vibe. The energy, the decor, the presentation — they’ve created a whole experience. They’re not just serving coffee. They’re serving identity. They’re charging $6 for a latte and $7.50 for a breakfast sandwich — and people are lining up to pay.

Shop #2? Let’s call it Indian Rocks Café.

They sell similar stuff. Prices are lower. They even made some improvements based on customer feedback (I told them to go gluten-free — they did — and it worked for a while). But now? They’re struggling. No energy. No crowd. Nothing pulling people in.

Sound familiar?

This Is What’s Happening to the Middle Class (and to YOU)ts

We’re living in an economy that’s slowly squeezing the middle class out of existence.

Doesn’t matter if you love Trump or Biden. This was happening before either of them got in office — and it’s accelerating now.

Here’s what I believe is really going down:

  • The rich? They’re getting richer.

  • The poor? Unfortunately, there’s more of them.

  • The middle class? 90% of them are about to feel the pinch HARD.

But here’s the kicker…

10% of that middle class is about to make a jump.
They’re gonna say, “Screw this,” and build something better.
They’ll start solving bigger problems.
And they’ll cross over.

They’re gonna become the Grove Surf Café of their niche.
Are you gonna be one of them?

You Need a Two-Tier Business Model. NOW.

If you're still running a one-size-fits-all service (or worse, only selling your time for money), I’m telling you — that’s Indian Rocks Café energy.

To survive and thrive in this new economy, you need two things:

  1. High-touch, high-ticket services for the rich.
They’re still spending. But they demand experience, value, and RESULTS.

  2. Scalable, lower-cost offers for the price-sensitive majority.
This group is growing fast. They can’t afford $250 consults — but they’ll still buy something affordable if it solves a real problem.

This is what I teach my SSHC clients every single day.

Whether it’s through the 168 vehicle…
Or creating a hybrid online business model…
Or packaging your expertise into a scalable format…

This is the game now.
Adapt or get crushed.

Bottom Line

You can cry about politics.
You can blame insurance companies.
You can say “it’s not fair.”

Or…

You can look around and realize: The rules have changed.
And if you don’t change with them, your business will get left behind just like that second coffee shop.

So which one are you?

One’s making money. One’s losing money.
Same product. Same location. Same economy.
Different positioning, different experience, different mindset.

The choice is yours.

Much love,
Greg Todd
