Let’s talk about something that might surprise you...
For years, I chased financial freedom. And I’ve talked about it a lot — building passive income, breaking free from the time-for-money trap, stacking up investments. All of that. And don’t get me wrong — I’m still grateful for everything God has allowed me to build.
But today? Financial freedom isn’t my goal anymore. Not even close.
I realized something deeper.
There’s a verse in Matthew 19:24 — you’ve probably heard it before:
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Now… that used to confuse me.
Did it mean we weren’t supposed to have money?
Was God against wealth?
No.
After months of reading and rereading the Gospels this year — diving deep into Matthew, Mark, Luke — I finally understood it.
It’s not about money being the problem.
It’s about what happens when money replaces your faith.
When Jesus healed people, there was a pattern. Before or after every miracle, He’d say:
“Because of your faith, you are healed.”
Faith.
Not strategy. Not savings. Not status.
And here’s what clicked for me:
If I’m chasing a version of “freedom” that causes me to no longer depend on God… that ain’t freedom. That’s bondage disguised in a bigger bank account.
That verse in Matthew? It hit me like a spiritual gut check.
Financial freedom sounds like a goal, but if it disconnects me from relying on God daily… it’s actually a trap.
Do I want a life where I’ve got “enough” money and I stop leaning on Him?
Or…
Do I want a life where I stay dependent on His wisdom, His provision, His timing?
Because when I’m focused only on financial safety, I start to believe peace comes from numbers in a bank account.
But peace doesn’t live in your account. Peace lives in your posture.
And I’m choosing to posture myself in faith, not just finance.
Some of y’all reading this are wealthy. Some of y’all are just getting started.
But wherever you are — this applies.
If you’re broke and you think, “I just need enough money to feel safe,” your trust might be misplaced.
If you’re wealthy and you think, “I’m good now. I don’t really need to pray about provision anymore,” your trust might be misplaced too.
See the pattern?
Faith gets replaced by control.
And control is a sneaky god that always disappoints.
I don’t want to chase financial freedom anymore.
I want to become the kind of person God can trust.
I want to be a faithful steward over whatever He gives me.
Whether that’s $5,000 or $5 million.
Whether it’s five clients or five businesses.
I want my heart to say, “God, whatever You give me — I’ll manage it with wisdom and humility.”
That’s the real goal.
That’s the win that matters.
If you’re constantly stressed…
If you’re always anxious about bills…
If you’ve achieved financial success but still feel empty...
Ask yourself: Do I trust money more than I trust God?
Because that might be the shift that changes everything.
Much love,
